Famous quotes containing the words parliament, united and/or kingdom:

A Parliament is that to the Commonwealth which the soul is to the body.... It behoves us therefore to keep the facility of that soul from distemper.
    John Pym (1584–1643)

And hereby hangs a moral highly applicable to our own trustee-ridden universities, if to nothing else. John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

    The masses of the sea
The masses of the sea under
The masses of the infant-bearing sea

    Glory glory glory
The sundering ultimate kingdom of genesis’ thunder.
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)
