In later years, the parish was subdivided, with the part of the parish around the original church site becoming Clontarf (St. John's), the cityside part (as far as Castle Avenue) becoming Clontarf (St. Anthony's), and the end near Raheny, in the locality of Dollymount becoming the Parish of Dollymount, with a new church, St. Gabriel's.
