Panart Records was a Cuban record label of the mid 20th century, headquartered in Havana. The label specialized in popular Cuban music. Panart, which was founded in 1943 by musician/engineer Ramón Sabat, was the first independent record label in Cuba.
The parent company of Panart was the Cuban Plastics & Record Corporation. Cuban Plastics and Record Corporation was founded because Owner Ramon Sabat spent many dollars shipping the playlist over seas for the records to be made. He was once the man looking and paying for the records and ended up being the supplier to many other music industries in Cuba. Offices were at San Miguel 410, between Campanario and Lealtad in Havana, with the factory outside of the city. The Owner Of Panart was Ramon Sabat and his wife Julia Sabat.
Panart also made custom recordings, and pressed and sold discs. They were the Cuban distributor for Odeon, Musart Sonora and Capitol Records.
Famous quotes containing the word records:
“My confessions are shameless. I confess, but do not repent. The fact is, my confessions are prompted, not by ethical motives, but intellectual. The confessions are to me the interesting records of a self-investigator.”
