The public high school serves the neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, Palisades Highlands, Kenter Canyon and portions of Brentwood (including Brentwood Circle). Its current enrollment numbers 2742 students, and many of them endure long bus rides to attend one of the most highly-ranked public high schools in the Los Angeles area. In 2005, "Pali" was recognized as a California Distinguished School.
The school is located at 15777 Bowdoin Street, Pacific Palisades, California, 90272.

Famous quotes containing the words charter, high and/or school:
“When Britain first, at Heavens command,
Arose from out the azure main,
This was the charter of her land,
And guardian angels sung the strain:
Rule, Britannia! Britannia rules the waves!
Britons never shall be slaves.”
—James Thomson (17001748)
“Under an old oak, whose boughs were mossed with age
And high top bald with dry antiquity.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Dissonance between family and school, therefore, is not only inevitable in a changing society; it also helps to make children more malleable and responsive to a changing world. By the same token, one could say that absolute homogeneity between family and school would reflect a static, authoritarian society and discourage creative, adaptive development in children.”
—Sara Lawrence Lightfoot (20th century)
