Pacific Science Center - IMAX and Permanent Exhibits

IMAX and Permanent Exhibits

For more background regarding the IMAX format, see IMAX.

Today the museum is composed of eight buildings, including two IMAX theaters (one of only a few places in the world with more than one IMAX theater), one of the world's largest Laser Dome theaters, a tropical butterfly house, a planetarium, and hundreds of hands-on science exhibits. Puzzle Palooza, a puzzle- and strategy-game based exhibit focusing on mathematical and logical reasoning that was at the Science Center for a few months, has been removed to create space for a new permanent exhibit, "Professor Wellbody's Academy of Health and Wellness", which is slated to open in Fall/Winter 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words permanent and/or exhibits:

Let a man learn to look for the permanent in the mutable and fleeting; let him learn to bear the disappearance of things he was wont to reverence; without losing his reverence; let him learn that he is here, not to work, but to be worked upon; and that, though abyss open under abyss, and opinion displace opinion, all are at last contained in the Eternal Cause.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Uncritical semantics is the myth of a museum in which the exhibits are meanings and the words are labels. To switch languages is to change the labels.
Willard Van Orman Quine (b. 1908)
