Oz (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) - Dingoes Ate My Baby

Dingoes Ate My Baby

Oz plays guitar in a rock band named Dingoes Ate My Baby. The name alludes to the widespread news coverage of the death of nine week old Azaria Chamberlain in Australia in 1980.

The only band member mentioned by name, other than Oz, is lead singer Devon MacLeish (played by Jason Hall). Devon is a friend of Oz and he also briefly dated both Cordelia Chase and Harmony Kendall.

Willow has the band's poster on her dorm room wall beginning in season 4 episode 2.

Famous quotes containing the words ate and/or baby:

    Rats!
They fought the dogs and killed the cats,
And bit the babies in the cradles,
And ate the cheeses out of the vats,
And licked the soup from the cooks’ own ladles,
Split open the kegs of salted sprats,
Made nests inside men’s Sunday hats,
And even spoiled the women’s chats
    By drowning their speaking
    With shrieking and squeaking
In fifty different sharps and flats.
    Robert Browning (1812–1889)

Your toddler is no longer a baby feeling himself as part of you, using you as his controller, facilitator, his mirror for himself and the world. But he is not yet a child either; ready to see you as a person in your own right and to take responsibility for himself and his own actions in relation to you.
    Penelope Leach (20th century)
