Ovidiu Petre (nickname: "Sârmă"/"Wire"), (born 22 March 1982 in Bucharest) is a Romanian football player who plays for Romanian club ACS Poli Timişoara. He can play in various positions but he is mostly used a defensive midfielder. Many consider him a veritable talent, however numerous knee injures affected his career.
