Overo - Tovero and Other Mixed Patterns

Tovero and Other Mixed Patterns

Main article: Tovero

A tovero horse has pinto spotting patterns that show characteristics of both overo and tobiano and probably carries genes for both. For example, a tovero might have tobiano body spotting with rounded edges and white across the back, yet have irregular facial markings and blue eyes.

Horses may also have a combination of sabino and frame overo genetics or any other combination of genes, resulting patterns that are difficult to smoothly classify into any one group.

Famous quotes containing the words mixed and/or patterns:

Let us not deny it up and down. Providence has a wild, rough, incalculable road to its end, and it is of no use to try to whitewash its huge, mixed instrumentalities, or to dress up that terrific benefactor in a clean shirt and white neckcloth of a student of divinity.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The ninety percent of human experience that does not fit into established narrative patterns falls into oblivion.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
