Outline Of Guyana
The following outline is provided as an overview of and topical guide to Guyana:
The Co-operative Republic of Guyana, commonly known as Guyana and previously known as British Guiana, is the only nation state of the Commonwealth of Nations on the mainland of South America. Bordered to the east by Suriname, to the south and southwest by Brazil and to the west by Venezuela, it is the third-smallest country on the mainland of South America. It is one of four non-Spanish-speaking territories on the continent, along with the countries of Brazil (Portuguese), Suriname (Dutch) and the French overseas region of French Guiana (French). Culturally, Guyana associates primarily with the English-speaking Caribbean countries such as Jamaica, or Trinidad and Tobago.

Famous quotes containing the words outline of and/or outline:
“One by one objects are defined
It quickens: clarity, outline of leaf
But now the stark dignity of
entranceStill, the profound change
has come upon them: rooted, they
grip down and begin to awaken”
—William Carlos Williams (18831963)
“A true poem is distinguished not so much by a felicitous expression, or any thought it suggests, as by the atmosphere which surrounds it. Most have beauty of outline merely, and are striking as the form and bearing of a stranger; but true verses come toward us indistinctly, as the very breath of all friendliness, and envelop us in their spirit and fragrance.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
