Subclassifications of Architecture

• Religious architecture – practice concerned with the design and construction of places of worship and/or sacred or intentional space, such as churches, mosques, stupas, synagogues, and temples.
• Domestic architecture – field concerned with the design and construction of houses.
• Modern architecture – generally characterized by simplification of form and creation of ornament from the structure and theme of the building.
• Responsive architecture – designing buildings that measure their environmental conditions (via sensors) to adapt their form, shape, color or character responsively (via actuators).
• Sustainable architecture – environmentally conscious design techniques in the field of architecture.
