Outhouse Tipping

Outhouse tipping is a prank consisting of overturning an outhouse, usually onto the door.

It allegedly used to be performed as a revenge for not being given a treat at Halloween. Legendary versions of elaborate outhouse pranks have been preserved in the histories of various schools, towns, and communities.

Tipping a modern outhouse/portable toilet may have several environmental & health hazards/dangers. The chemicals (formaldehyde) used in portable toilets may cause cancer if ingested and can cause blindness. The chemicals are also hazardous to the environment and can lead to the deaths of small animals & fish who consume the blue chemicals.

The prank itself is a topic of a joke. For example, in 1992, during the annual North Kansas City Snake Parade, a course in "Outhouse Tipping 101" was given in an open-air classroom.
