"Out of Space" was the fifth EP/single released by the English band The Prodigy on 9 November 1992.
The song is also featured on The Prodigy's 1992 debut album Experience and is fourth single from it.
The title song features samples from the classic reggae track "I Chase the Devil" by Max Romeo, which was produced by Lee Scratch Perry. It also samples "Critical Beatdown" by the Ultramagnetic MCs, with the Kool Keith line "I'll take your brain to another dimension, pay close attention." The colour-negative video featured the band raving in a rural setting with Keith dressed up in a "raver's outfit". Other elements include the footage of satellites and ostriches.
The song is arguably the most successful of The Prodigy's early period and is still often played live by the band. In 2005 "Out of Space" was released as a remix by Audio Bullys in the single "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)/Out of Space (Audio Bullys Remix)" from the greatest hits compilation Their Law: The Singles 1990-2005.
Famous quotes containing the words out of and/or space:
“The Israelites groaned under their slavery, and cried out. Out of the slavery their cry for help rose up to God.”
—Bible: Hebrew, Exodus 2:23.
“To play is nothing but the imitative substitution of a pleasurable, superfluous and voluntary action for a serious, necessary, imperative and difficult one. At the cradle of play as well as of artistic activity there stood leisure, tedium entailed by increased spiritual mobility, a horror vacui, the need of letting forms no longer imprisoned move freely, of filling empty time with sequences of notes, empty space with sequences of form.”
—Max J. Friedländer (18671958)
