Our Lips Are Sealed - Go-Go's and Fun Boy Three Versions

Go-Go's and Fun Boy Three Versions

Although originally written and performed with three verses, it is an abbreviated version of the song that appears on Beauty and the Beat. This version of the song was released as a single in June 1981 (see 1981 in music) and peaked at number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and fifteen on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart. On the dance chart, the song peaked at number ten. A song of unusual longevity as a hit, it remained on the Billboard charts for much of 1982 as well, long after its peak.

The following year, co-writer Terry Hall re-recorded the song with his own band, Fun Boy Three . It was included on their second album Waiting and reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart.

Famous quotes containing the words fun, boy and/or versions:

    You can have fun with a son,
    But you got to be a father to a girl.
    Oscar Hammerstein II (1895–1960)

    O, pluck was he to the backbone and clear grit through and through;
    Boasted and bragged like a trooper; but the big words wouldn’t do;
    The boy was dying, sir, dying, as plain as plain could be,
    Worn out by his ride with Morgan up from the Tennessee.
    Constance Fenimore Woolson (1840–1894)

    The assumption must be that those who can see value only in tradition, or versions of it, deny man’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
    Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
