History
The Senators joined the Central Junior A Hockey League in 1979. In 1992, the team added "Junior" to become the Junior Senators or Ottawa Junior "A" Senators (OJS) to prevent confusion with the Ottawa Senators - expansion team in the NHL in 1992-93. One of their most successful seasons came in 2001-02, when the Junior Senators defeated the top-ranked Cornwall Colts 4 games to 1. Ottawa went on to appear in the Royal Bank Cup when the Halifax Oland Exports were hosting the event.
Ottawa has appeared in the playoffs several times since their 2002-03 championship season, but have only advanced to the Semi Finals twice since – in 2009 and 2010.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“You treat world history as a mathematician does mathematics, in which nothing but laws and formulas exist, no reality, no good and evil, no time, no yesterday, no tomorrow, nothing but an eternal, shallow, mathematical present.”
—Hermann Hesse (18771962)
“History ... is, indeed, little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind.
But what experience and history teach is thisthat peoples and governments have never learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it.”
—Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (17701831)
“The basic idea which runs right through modern history and modern liberalism is that the public has got to be marginalized. The general public are viewed as no more than ignorant and meddlesome outsiders, a bewildered herd.”
—Noam Chomsky (b. 1928)
