Famous quotes containing the words bells and/or ring:

    The bells they sound on Bredon,
    And still the steeples hum.
    “Come all to church, good people,—”
    Oh, noisy bells, be dumb;
    I hear you, I will come.
    —A.E. (Alfred Edward)

    Genius resembles a bell; in order to ring it must be suspended into pure air, and when a foreign body touches it, its joyful tone is silenced.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)
