Because Ouendan was not released outside of Japan, it does not feature many reviews from English gaming publications. As of March 30, 2008, the game currently has an 87/100 rating from MetaCritic. In December 2006, Press Start Online placed Ouendan at number one in their HeartScore list, a top 25 of underappreciated games and personal favorites.
