Incidents
- On 22 December 1997 Biman Bangladesh Flight 609 crashed on to a paddy field 5-6 kilometers from the foot of the runway, on final approach.
- On 2 August 2011 a London bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying 171 passengers escaped an accident, when a bird suddenly entered into a blade of the BG 001 flight at about 6:15am when it was taking off. The aircraft was forced to return to runway due to acute jerking following the incident. All passengers were safe and unhurt.
