Oshawa Transit
On January 1, 1960 at the request of the City of Oshawa, the Oshawa Public Utilities Commission undertook the operation of the transit system for the city. The Oshawa P.U.C. did this until June 1996 when City Council created a new Oshawa Transit Commission. It operated until December 31, 2005.
Oshawa Transit along with Whitby Transit, Ajax-Pickering Transit, and Clarington Transit in Durham Region, were all merged on January 1, 2006 to form Durham Region Transit.

Famous quotes containing the word transit:
“We only seem to learn from Life that Life doesnt matter so much as it seemed to doits not so burningly important, after all, what happens. We crawl, like blinking sea-creatures, out of the Ocean onto a spur of rock, we creep over the promontory bewildered and dazzled and hurting ourselves, then we drop in the ocean on the other side: and the little transit doesnt matter so much.”
