Cast-cutting
April 2, 1945 Home H. Stryker filed for a US patent for his plaster cast cutting saw. The patent was issued Sep 16, 1947 (#2427580). The design used an oscillating saw design, not unlike the mechanism used in modern oscillating saws used in construction. August 28, 1950, Neil McKay filed for a US patent of his plaster cast cutting shears. The patent was issued July 8, 1952 (#2602224). October 17, 1979, Robert P. Straub filed for a US patent, improving on the original Stryker design, on behalf of Black and Decker. The patent was issued April 6, 1982 (# D263744)
