Honours
In 2002, she was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Essex, England and won the Broadcaster of the Year Award from the London Press Club. She was awarded an MBE (Hons) for services to broadcasting. In 2009, she was awarded honorary degrees from both of Northern Ireland's universities, Queen's University Belfast and the University of Ulster.
