Oregon Country Fair

The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) is a nonprofit organization, and an annual three-day fair held in Veneta, Oregon, United States. Located in the Willamette Valley, the site is about 15 miles (24 km) west of Eugene along the Long Tom River. Annual attendance is approximately 45,000, and the fair has around 350 booths each year. The event is known as an outgrowth of the counter-culture movement, including an emphasis on cannabis use, as well using environmentally friendly practices during the fair.

[N]o country can squander itself to prosperity on the ruin of its taxpayers.
    Herbert Hoover (1874–1964)

Talleyrand said that two things are essential in life: to give good dinners and to keep on fair terms with women. As the years pass and fires cool, it can become unimportant to stay always on fair terms either with women or one’s fellows, but a wide and sensitive appreciation of fine flavours can still abide with us, to warm our hearts.
    M.F.K. Fisher (b. 1908)
