- Forward error correction (FEC) on OTN signals
- Multiplexing and de-multiplexing of OTN signals
- Mapping and de-mapping of non-OTN signals into and out of OTN signals
- Packet processing in conjunction with mapping/de-mapping of packet into and out of OTN signals
