Open Source Beer Project

The Open Source Beer Project is a community effort spearheaded by Flying Dog Brewery to develop a beer using open-source methodology. While Free Beer (formerly known as Vores Øl) was the first open source beer and OpenCola preceded it as an open-source beverage, the Open Source Beer Project aims to produce the first commercially available open-source beer. However, at least one other group, Brewtopia, has claimed to have produced open-source beer commercially, and Free Beer has been brewed by multiple breweries.

Famous quotes containing the words open, source, beer and/or project:

In the greatest confusion there is still an open channel to the soul. It may be difficult to find because by midlife it is overgrown, and some of the wildest thickets that surround it grow out of what we describe as our education. But the channel is always there, and it is our business to keep it open, to have access to the deepest part of ourselves.
    Saul Bellow (b. 1915)

To not know would be a source of pain.
    Sophocles (497–406/5 B.C.)

I’m only a beer teetotaller, not a champagne teetotaller. I don’t like beer.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

Treat the cow kindly, boys; remember she’s a lady—and a mother.
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
