Opacity family porins are a family of porins from pathogenic Neisseria. These bacteria possess a repertoire of phase-variable opacity proteins that mediate various pathogen/host cell interactions. These proteins are related to OmpA-like transmembrane domain family.
Famous quotes containing the words opacity and/or family:
“In a language known to us, we have substituted the opacity of the sounds with the transparence of the ideas. But a language we do not know is a closed place in which the one we love can deceive us, making us, locked outside and convulsed in our impotence, incapable of seeing or preventing anything.”
—Marcel Proust (18711922)
“If it had not been for storytelling, the black family would not have survived. It was the responsibility of the Uncle Remus types to transfer philosophies, attitudes, values, and advice, by way of storytelling using creatures in the woods as symbols.”
—Jackie Torrence (b. 1944)
