Oops!... I Did IT Again

"Oops!... I Did It Again" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears, from her second studio album Oops!... I Did It Again. It was released on March 27, 2000 by Jive Records as the lead single of the album. Written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, "Oops!... I Did It Again" is a teen pop song. Its lyrics speak of a girl who sees love as a game and plays with her lover's emotions; its bridge features a dialogue that makes reference to the James Cameron movie Titanic (1997).

"Oops!... I Did It Again" was a commercial success, peaking atop the charts in eleven countries and in the top five in six others; its lowest chart position was number nine in the United States' Billboard Hot 100. The song was met with a positive response from music critics, who drew comparisons to Spears's debut single "...Baby One More Time". It has received nine certifications, from gold to multi-platinum in several countries. The song's accompanying music video was directed by Nigel Dick. It portrays Spears on Mars, addressing an astronaut who has fallen in love with her. The red-latex catsuit she had requested was considered too sexy at the time.

Spears performed the song several times on live television, and has performed the song on three world tours, including Oops!... I Did It Again World Tour, Dream Within a Dream Tour, and The Onyx Hotel Tour, in which it was reworked with elements of jazz and blues. In 2001, "Oops!... I Did It Again" was nominated for the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 43rd Grammy Awards, but lost to Macy Gray's "I Try" (2000). It was also nominated for "Favorite Song" at the 2001 Kids' Choice Awards, while the music video received three nominations at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The song is recognized as one of Spears' signature songs.
