"Only Wanna Be with You" is a rock song released in July 1995 by Hootie & the Blowfish, the third single from their breakthrough album, Cracked Rear View. It peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, #1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart, #3 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, and #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Alvin and the Chipmunks covered the song as a bonus track for their 2007 video game Alvin and the Chipmunks.
"Only Wanna Be with You" references and quotes extensively from Bob Dylan's "Idiot Wind," and the song makes reference to other Dylan titles. The band later entered into a financial settlement with Dylan for the use.
It was featured in the 2012 comedy Ted.
The American Grindcore Band AxCx parodies this song as "Hootie And The Blowfish" on the 1997 album "I Like It When You Die".

Famous quotes containing the word wanna:
“And you’re too fired up to go to sleep, you sit at the kitchen table. It’s really late, it’s really quiet, you’re tired. Don’t wanna go to bed, though. Going to bed means this was the day. This Feb. 12, this Aug. 3, this Nov. 20 is over and you’re tired and you made some money but it didn’t happen, nothing happened. You got through it and a whole day of your life is over. And all it is—is time to go to bed.”
