Only Connect is a quiz show programme first shown on BBC Four on 15 September 2008, presented by Victoria Coren Mitchell. In the series, teams compete in a tournament of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues. Radio Times's listings usually describe it as "a game of patience and lateral thinking".
The phrase "Only connect" was originally used as the epigraph to E. M. Forster's 1910 novel Howards End.
Famous quotes containing the word connect:
“Such were the first rude beginnings of a town. They spoke of the practicability of a winter road to the Moosehead Carry, which would not cost much, and would connect them with steam and staging and all the busy world. I almost doubted if the lake would be there, the self-same lake, preserve its form and identity, when the shores should be cleared and settled; as if these lakes and streams which explorers report never awaited the advent of the citizen.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
