Reception
Despite disappointing sales compared to its predecessor, Onimusha 2 still received praise for its gameplay and presentation. On release, Famitsu magazine scored the game a 36 of 40. IGN scored it 8.9/10 describing it as "Bigger, bloodier, and deeper than its predecessor, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is on many levels the perfect sequel."
