Olympic Spirit Munich

Olympic Spirit Munich opened in March, 1999 within Olympia Park, site of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. During the 18-month trial period this Test Site was operational, hundreds of thousands of visitors enjoyed its exciting entertainment and educational activities.

Based on the success and experience gained, the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Spirit Group proceeded with plans for the design, development and management of Olympic Spirit Centers worldwide.

Famous quotes containing the words olympic and/or spirit:

Like Olympic medals and tennis trophies, all they signified was that the owner had done something of no benefit to anyone more capably than everyone else.
    Joseph Heller (b. 1923)

Away profane philosopher! seekest thou in nature the cause? This refers to that, and that to the next, and the next to the third, and everything refers. Thou must ask in another mood, thou must feel it and love it, thou must behold it in a spirit as grand as that by which it exists, ere thou canst know the law. Known it will not be, but gladly beloved and enjoyed.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
