Oliver Holzwarth is a German bass guitarist. He was born in Landshut, Germany. He plays bass as Official Member in Rhapsody of Fire along with his brother, drummer Alex Holzwarth. Oliver had been the live/studio bass player for Blind Guardian between 1998 - 2012. He also is a member of the side project band Coldseed.
He also was the bass player of the progressive metal band Sieges Even, which he and his brother were founding members of, and played bass for power metal band Power Quest. In 2009-2010, he toured with Tarja Turunen.
In 2011, he also released an EP called "The Mirror of Silence" with Pergana. He also joined Rhapsody of Fire as a permanent member following the departure of Patrice Guers.
