Old Sydney Town was a small open air museum and theme park which operated from 1975 until 2003 in the town of Somersby, near Gosford New South Wales, Australia. Once a living tribute to the early years of Sydney's colonial settlement in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the town is now used as a location for film and television production.

Famous quotes containing the words sydney and/or town:
“A straw vote only shows which way the hot air blows.”
—O. Henry [William Sydney Porter] (18621910)
“All of childhoods unanswered questions must finally be passed back to the town and answered there. Heroes and bogey men, values and dislikes, are first encountered and labeled in that early environment. In later years they change faces, places and maybe races, tactics, intensities and goals, but beneath those penetrable masks they wear forever the stocking-capped faces of childhood.”
—Maya Angelou (b. 1928)
