Ohio State Route 761 - History

History

Prior to the start of construction of Interstate 670 in the Columbus vicinity, the current routing of State Route 761, along with the portion of State Route 313 from the State Route 761 junction to its eastern terminus at State Route 147 was designated as State Route 670. In 1974, because of construction on the future Interstate 670, and the rule that no state highway designation may duplicate a U.S. or Interstate highway designation within Ohio, the portion of State Route 670 between State Route 313 and State Route 265 became State Route 761, and the remainder became an extension of State Route 313.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

I believe that in the history of art and of thought there has always been at every living moment of culture a “will to renewal.” This is not the prerogative of the last decade only. All history is nothing but a succession of “crises”Mof rupture, repudiation and resistance.... When there is no “crisis,” there is stagnation, petrification and death. All thought, all art is aggressive.
    Eugène Ionesco (b. 1912)

A poet’s object is not to tell what actually happened but what could or would happen either probably or inevitably.... For this reason poetry is something more scientific and serious than history, because poetry tends to give general truths while history gives particular facts.
    Aristotle (384–323 B.C.)

The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
