Oakwood Park Primary School is located in Noble Park North, Victoria, Australia. It has won National Literacy Awards in 2006 and 2007 It pioneered both the "Ready-Set-Prep" kinder to school transition program and the "It's Cool to be at School" program.
In August 2008, the School Council of Oakwood Park and Yarraman Park Primary agreed to merge to form a new school to be located at the current Yarraman site. Some Oakwood Park Councillors reported that the Government/Education Department had said that the school would receive no extra funds if it stayed a stand alone school and the Acting Principal had stopped taking future enrolment which also went to the decision of council. It was later revealed in a case study about leadership by Acting Principal, Mary Verwey, that the decision to close the school was actually made by "the regional regeneration team".

“Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow,
And every where that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go;
He followed her to school one day
That was against the rule,
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.”
