Mergers and Name Changes

On 1 September 2006, the former Aubonne district (District d'Aubonne), Nyon district (District de Nyon) and Rolle district (District de Rolle) were dissolved and portions of the old districts were merged into the new Nyon district.

  • The municipalities of Longirod, Marchissy and Saint-George came from the Aubonne district (District d'Aubonne).
  • The municipalities of Arnex-sur-Nyon, Arzier, Bassins, Begnins, Bogis-Bossey, Borex, Chavannes-de-Bogis, Chavannes-des-Bois, Chéserex, Coinsins, Commugny, Coppet, Crans-près-Céligny, Crassier, Duillier, Eysins, Founex, Genolier, Gingins, Givrins, Gland, Grens, Mies, Nyon, Prangins, La Rippe, Saint-Cergue, Signy-Avenex, Tannay, Trélex, Le Vaud and Vich came from the old Nyon district (District de Nyon).
  • The municipalities of Bursinel, Bursins, Burtigny, Dully, Essertines-sur-Rolle, Gilly, Luins, Mont-sur-Rolle, Perroy, Rolle, Tartegnin and Vinzel came from the Rolle district (District de Rolle).
