The NWA Western States Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling title in the National Wrestling Alliance's Amarillo, Texas territory, NWA Western States Sports.
The title was in use from 1969, when it replaced Amarillo's version of the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship, through the promotion's 1981 closure.
This title is not related to the NWA Western States Heritage Championship, which was used in Jim Crockett Promotions from 1987 to 1989.

Famous quotes containing the words western and/or states:
“So-called Western Civilization, as practised in half of Europe, some of Asia and a few parts of North America, is better than anything else available. Western civilization not only provides a bit of life, a pinch of liberty and the occasional pursuance of happiness, its also the only thing thats ever tried to. Our civilization is the first in history to show even the slightest concern for average, undistinguished, none-too-commendable people like us.”
—P.J. (Patrick Jake)
“Our citizenship in the United States is our national character. Our citizenship in any particular state is only our local distinction. By the latter we are known at home, by the former to the world. Our great title is AMERICANSour inferior one varies with the place.”
—Thomas Paine (17371809)
