Noto Peninsula - in Film

In Film

The Noto Peninsula features prominently in the Japanese film noir "Zero Focus" (Zero no Shoten, 1961), directed by Yoshitara Nomura. The film features breathtaking footage of the peninsula's coast, along with an interesting dissection of the area's social distinctions. Noto Peninsula is also the setting of Koreeda Hirokazu's second film Maborosi.

Famous quotes containing the word film:

You should look straight at a film; that’s the only way to see one. Film is not the art of scholars but of illiterates.
    Werner Herzog (b. 1942)

This film is apparently meaningless, but if it has any meaning it is doubtless objectionable.
—British Board Of Film Censors. Quoted in Halliwell’s Filmgoer’s Companion (1984)
