In Film

The Noto Peninsula features prominently in the Japanese film noir "Zero Focus" (Zero no Shoten, 1961), directed by Yoshitara Nomura. The film features breathtaking footage of the peninsula's coast, along with an interesting dissection of the area's social distinctions. Famous quotes containing the word film:

If you want to tell the untold stories, if you want to give voice to the voiceless, you’ve got to find a language. Which goes for film as well as prose, for documentary as well as autobiography. Use the wrong language, and you’re dumb and blind.
    Salman Rushdie (b. 1948)

You should look straight at a film; that’s the only way to see one. Film is not the art of scholars but of illiterates.
    Werner Herzog (b. 1942)
