Nose Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (能勢電鉄株式会社, Nose Dentetsu?), occasionally abbreviated as Nose Railway or Noseden (能勢電?), is a Japanese private railway company headquartered in Kawanishi, which links several areas in the mountainous Nose, Osaka, area to Kawanishi-noseguchi Station in Kawanishi, Hyōgo, where one can transfer to Hankyu Takarazuka Line to Osaka.

Nose Railway is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hankyu Railway. A rush-hour special express train, the Nissei Limited Express, runs from Nissei Chūō Station to Umeda Station, the terminal of Hankyu in Osaka, in the morning and back again at nights for commuters.

Nose Railway uses second-hand EMUs of Hankyu. Nose Railway's series 1500, 1700 and 3100 cars are originally Hankyu's 2100, 2000 and 3100 series respectively. The trains run on a standard gauge rail.

Famous quotes containing the words nose, electric and/or railway:

I knew this guy that broke my sister’s nose when I was a kid and I always thought that’s why he became a priest. He tied her up in a chair and it was like, you know, I thought he was like overcompensating.
    Blake Edwards (b. 1922)

The sight of a planet through a telescope is worth all the course on astronomy; the shock of the electric spark in the elbow, outvalues all the theories; the taste of the nitrous oxide, the firing of an artificial volcano, are better than volumes of chemistry.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Her personality had an architectonic quality; I think of her when I see some of the great London railway termini, especially St. Pancras, with its soot and turrets, and she overshadowed her own daughters, whom she did not understand—my mother, who liked things to be nice; my dotty aunt. But my mother had not the strength to put even some physical distance between them, let alone keep the old monster at emotional arm’s length.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)
