Location
The school district is situated on the north shore of Long Island in western Suffolk County, Northport-East Northport is approximately 50 miles from the United States' largest city, New York. The district serves the communities of Northport, Eatons Neck, Asharoken and much of East Northport, all located in the Town of Huntington, New York.
Due to the children of East Northport going to Northport High School, there has historically been a rivalry between Northport and East Northport. Some members of East Northport, in the past, believed that the students from East Northport were looked down upon by the Northport Students. They also believed that there was a social barrier between Northport and East Northport. Although, this feeling has diminished through time, and as of now has nearly disappeared.
