North West Tsing Yi Interchange

North West Tsing Yi Interchange (Chinese: 青衣西北交匯處) is a road interchange in the northwest of the Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong, between Shek Wan and Wok Tai Wan. The interchange joins Route 3 and Route 8.

Several roads meet at the interchange:

  • Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, an elevated road leading to Tam Kon Shan Interchange;
  • Ting Kau Bridge of Tsing Long Highway (Route 3), a bridge heading north over Ting Kau to Tai Lam Tunnel and Tuen Mun Road;
  • Cheung Tsing Highway (Route 3), an expressway leading to the eastern and southern parts of the island, and also Cheung Tsing Tunnel;
  • Tsing Ma Bridge of Lantau Link (Route 8), a bridge leading to Ma Wan and further expressway to Lantau Island.

Apart from the major roads, a side road leads to Lantau Link Visitors Centre and Viewing platform above Wok Tai Wan.

Famous quotes containing the words north, west and/or interchange:

    We have heard all of our lives how, after the Civil War was over, the South went back to straighten itself out and make a living again. It was for many years a voiceless part of the government. The balance of power moved away from it—to the north and the east. The problems of the north and the east became the big problem of the country and nobody paid much attention to the economic unbalance the South had left as its only choice.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

    These emblems of twilight have seen at length,
    And the man red-faced and tall seen, leaning
    In the day of his strength
    Not as a pine, but the stiff form
    Against the west pillar....
    Allen Tate (1899–1979)

    What men have called friendship is only a social arrangement, a mutual adjustment of interests, an interchange of services given and received; it is, in sum, simply a business from which those involved propose to derive a steady profit for their own self-love.
    François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
