Change of Leadership
Following the 2003 raid the mosque was reclaimed by mainstream Muslims, including representatives of the Muslim Association of Britain, who installed a new board of trustees and imam. The mosque now offers courses open to the general public, and weekly attendance has tripled. It is open for public visits, awareness weeks, community open days and it aims to promote Islam as a religion of tolerance and co-operation.

Famous quotes containing the words change and/or leadership:
“Where we come from in America no longer signifiesits where we go, and what we do when we get there, that tells us who we are.
The irony of the role of women in my business, and in so many other places, too, was that while we began by demanding that we be allowed to mimic the ways of men, we wound up knowing we would have to change those ways. Not only because those ways were not like ours, but because they simply did not work.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
“During the first World War women in the United States had a chance to try their capacities in wider fields of executive leadership in industry. Must we always wait for war to give us opportunity? And must the pendulum always swing back in the busy world of work and workers during times of peace?”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
