Noon Clan - History and Origin

History and Origin

The origin of Noons is a bit controversial, as some them as descendants of the Tiwana Rajput clan,. The Noons claim to be closely related to the Tiwana Muslim Rajput tribe from Mitha Tiwana, and are largely settled in the Sargodha and Multan areas of Pakistani Punjab. In addition to the Tiwanas, they are closely allied to the Awan, Bandial and Piracha tribes in Pakistan. By profession, most of the Noons are rural agriculturists.

Famous quotes containing the words history and/or origin:

The history of our era is the nauseating and repulsive history of the crucifixion of the procreative body for the glorification of the spirit.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

For, though the origin of most of our words is forgotten, each word was at first a stroke of genius, and obtained currency, because for the moment it symbolized the world to the first speaker and to the hearer. The etymologist finds the deadest word to have been once a brilliant picture.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
