Abyssinia

In pre-Islamic Abyssinia, the Abyssinian merchants traded with their Arabic counterparts. After the Prophet Muhammed claimed to be the last Prophet of God, the Pagan Arabs persecuted the Muslims. Many Muslim families migrated to Abyssinia. And the local Abyssinian converted to Islam, before Muhammed declared that the new faith was completed.
