Noise (2007 Australian Film) - Miscellany

Miscellany

  • The train at the beginning of the film is running on the Lilydale railway line and was shot at Burnley railway station.
  • Police information vans are frequently used in Melbourne to solve disappearances and murders.
  • In the final scenes, Graham's girlfriend is playing in the police band at the "Carols at Christmas". This event is actually the Melbourne Carols by Candlelight held each year on Christmas Eve.
  • The Melway reference given (53 G11) does not give a location in Sunshine South, rather the location of some streetside shops in Altona Meadows. In fact, there is no suburb "Sunshine South", though there is a Sunshine, Sunshine West and Sunshine North. In addition, there is a Young Street in Sunshine West located near streetside shops.

Famous quotes containing the word miscellany:

The secret of culture is to learn, that a few great points steadily reappear, alike in the poverty of the obscurest farm, and in the miscellany of metropolitan life, and that these few are alone to be regarded,—the escape from all false ties; courage to be what we are; and love what is simple and beautiful; independence and cheerful relation, these are the essentials,—these, and the wish to serve,—to add somewhat to the well-being of men.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Happy will that house be in which the relations are formed from character; after the highest, and not after the lowest order; the house in which character marries, and not confusion and a miscellany of unavowable motives.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
