NMEA 2000 - Network Construction

Network Construction

The NMEA 2000 network, like the SAE J1939 network on which it is based, is organized around a bus topology, and requires a single 120Ω termination resistor at each end of the bus. (The resistors are in parallel, so a properly terminated bus should have a total resistance of 60 ohms). The maximum distance for any device from the bus is six metres.

Famous quotes containing the words network and/or construction:

A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)

The construction of life is at present in the power of facts far more than convictions.
    Walter Benjamin (1892–1940)
