The Qashqai has been made at the Makati City plant since April 2013. Its launch also coincided with the withdrawal of the Patrol from the Philippine market due to declining sales.

This left the company with no direct successor to the Patrol on the Philippine market, with the "SUV" Note being sold alongside the Nissan Murano, and the Qashqai as a successor to the Patrol Super Safari. The New Qashqai was launched at the 2013 Manila International Auto Show, alongside the Murano, and went on sale in the Philippines in April 2013.
