Nintendo Power Fest '94 - Games

Games

The tasks on the games were as follows:
1. Super Mario Lost Levels: Players had to complete the first level as quickly as possible.
2. Super Mario Kart: Players had to finish the first track of five laps.
3. Ken Griffey, Jr. Presents Major League Baseball: Players had to play a home run derby and hit as many home runs as possible.

After the time expired, your final score was calculated like this:

Score from Super Mario Lost Levels
+ ((Coins collected in Super Mario Kart x 1,000) + Finishing position score)
+ ((Total distance in Major League Baseball x 100) + (Number of home runs x 10,000 in the regional events or 1,000,000 in the Finals))
= Grand Total

Famous quotes containing the word games:

In the past, it seemed to make sense for a sportswriter on sabbatical from the playpen to attend the quadrennial hawgkilling when Presidential candidates are chosen, to observe and report upon politicians at play. After all, national conventions are games of a sort, and sports offers few spectacles richer in low comedy.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)

Criticism occupies the lowest place in the literary hierarchy: as regards form, almost always; and as regards moral value, incontestably. It comes after rhyming games and acrostics, which at least require a certain inventiveness.
    Gustave Flaubert (1821–1880)

In 1600 the specialization of games and pastimes did not extend beyond infancy; after the age of three or four it decreased and disappeared. From then on the child played the same games as the adult, either with other children or with adults. . . . Conversely, adults used to play games which today only children play.
    Philippe Ariés (20th century)
