Niedermayer-Hentig Expedition - Journey

Journey

To evade British and Russian intelligence, the group split up, beginning their journeys on different days and separately making their way to Constantinople. At Vienna, they were met briefly by the deposed Khedive of Egypt, Abbas Hilmi.

Famous quotes containing the word journey:

    Our journey had advanced;
    Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)

    So every journey that I make
    Leads me, as in the story he was led,
    To some new ambush, to some fresh mistake:
    So every journey I begin foretells
    A weariness of daybreak, spread
    With carrion kisses, carrion farewells.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

    The course of every intellectual, if he pursues his journey long and unflinchingly enough, ends in the obvious, from which the nonintellectuals have never stirred.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
