Niall Stanage (born 18 June 1974) is a journalist from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Stanage was born in 1974 and attended Carryduff Primary School and Methodist College Belfast, in Northern Ireland. He went on to read English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University. In the 1990s, he did a stint as a singer-songwriter, performing various live gigs in the UK and Ireland, playing acoustic guitar and harmonica.
Stanage is a former editor of Magill magazine. He is a regular contributor to the New York Observer while also covering the United States for a national Irish newspaper, The Sunday Business Post. He has also written for The Wall Street Journal, the British newspaper The Guardian and the Irish Independent, among many other publications.
He is author of Redemption Song: An Irish Reporter Inside the Obama Campaign (Liberties Press, Dublin www.libertiespress.com). Redemption Song was officially released on 1 December 2008, thereby becoming one of the first books published anywhere to cover the entirety of Barack Obama's 2008 campaign for the Presidency of the United States.
