Claims By The Inventor
Mainstream scientists reject Newman's claims, saying that they are rooted on a misinterpretation of Lenz's law. By adding rolls to the armature of a motor, a larger and larger counter-electromotive force is generated on the motor. The resulting pulses create huge spikes in the output current, causing the measuring instruments to give mistaken readings.
Newman outlined his claims about there being a fundamental electromagnetic interaction in all matter ultimately derived from only one type of force particle propagating at the speed of light. Newman claims that the motor derives its power by converting some of the mass of the copper in the coils into usable energy, in application of Einstein's Mass–energy equivalence. According to proponents of the Energy Machine, the most crucial part of the design concerns what happens as a result of mechanical commutation. Most scientists regard Newman's explanations as pseudoscience. His conclusions are in conflict with mainstream physics, and no articles in respected textbooks or peer reviewed journals make any direct references to them.

Famous quotes containing the words claims and/or inventor:
“Rationalists are admirable beings, rationalism is a hideous monster when it claims for itself omnipotence. Attribution of omnipotence to reason is as bad a piece of idolatry as is worship of stock and stone believing it to be God. I plead not for the suppression of reason, but for a due recognition of that in us which sanctifies reason.”
—Mohandas K. Gandhi (18691948)
“The public values the invention more than the inventor does. The inventor knows there is much more and better where this came from.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
