Sussex Skyhawks, The New Jersey Cardinals Replacement

Beginning with the 2006 baseball season, the vacancy left by the New Jersey Cardinals in Augusta, New Jersey, was replaced by a new expansion team called the Sussex Skyhawks. The Skyhawks played in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, a independent baseball league. Famous quotes containing the words jersey and/or replacement:

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a grave announcement to make. Incredible as it may seem, strange beings who landed in New Jersey tonight are the vanguard of an invading army from Mars.
    Orson Welles (1915–1984)

    Salman Rushdie (b. 1947)
